I am a bit of a perfectionist, and I could spend hours and hours on a project trying to get it technically perfect but since having children this part of me shut down; the effort behind such laborious projects was enough to make me pack away all my craft things with the thought that one day I’d ‘get back to it’.

A few years later, I have now come to realise that, even though the children are easier, they are still just as time-consuming, and that worrying about making show-stopping creations has actually stunted me doing anything creative at all. One day I found myself in a situation where I desperately needed a last minute gift, and, with no time to pop to the shops, I quickly dusted off my sewing machine and whizzed up a cushion whilst the kids were in bed. I surprised myself with my ability to create in such little time, and so this blog was born.

Not everything on this blog is going to be ‘technically’ accurate, there’ll be plenty of hacks and cutting corners, but for now, this is the only way I can get my ideas and designs into some sort of reality. We all need balance – to have something that is ours and have ‘me time’. For me, that rejuvenation comes with crafting time – I’ve come to realise that it actually gives me an energy boost, rather than being another chore on my to-do list.

Whatever your reasons for having little time, be it children, work (or both!) get your knitting needles out and the sewing machine threaded up and let this blog inspire you with plenty of ideas & creations for your children and home.
